Holocaust Commemoration Service
Days of Remembrance Services
The official State of Kansas Holocaust Commemoration is a vital legacy of victims and survivors. The Commemoration occurs within the context of a world in which the Holocaust is vehemently denied by leaders in Latin America and the Middle East. Such observances with elected officials are critical to acknowledge the experiences of the Holocaust and the moral obligation of citizens to remember. No reason is more important than to remind our legislators that the government is entrusted with the weighty responsibilities of ensuring justice and protection for its people. While attending local Jewish community events is common, we should not allow them to substitute for state level sponsored events. Our attendance at the State of Kansas observance serves to show our government representatives that the Jewish community places significant value on Holocaust remembrance. Please plan to attend the State of Kansas Holocaust Commemoration in Topeka on Monday, April 19, 2010 at 1:30 pm at the Kansas State Historical Museum.
