Executive Director

Jack Feldman

Jack is a native of Toronto, Canada. He came to Beth Torah in 2006 from the URJ camping system, where he spent two years as the director of Camp Harlam and 4 years as the founding director of Camp George. Jack has a Masters’ degree in Social Work from the University of Toronto, and an undergraduate degree in Sociology and English. Music Director

Linda Matorin Sweenie

Linda's passion for Judaism and music fuels all her activities at Congregation Beth Torah. As Music Director since May, 2004, Linda serves as the congregation’s primary cantorial soloist and accompanist for worship, coordinates all volunteers in the Adult and Youth choirs and Intergenerational Ensemble, coordinates the B’nai Mitzvah program, and teaches music and Hebrew in the Weiner Religious School. Linda and her family joined the congregation in 1998. She holds a BA degree in English with a minor in Music Theory and Composition from Northwestern University. Along with her responsibilities at Beth Torah, she is also a composer and arranger, and a member of the contemporary Jewish band Shir Balev, which often provides music for Beth Torah worship. Member Services Coordinator

Laura Intfen

Laura has been on the Beth Torah staff working with members since December 2001. In the position of Member Services Coordinator, Laura implements membership strategies designed to attract, connect and retain Beth Torah members. The resulting programs, member connections, committees and documents are the forces that sustain a welcoming culture here at Beth Torah. This culture allows members to feel a spiritual connection and to develop their own personal community every time they come to our building. She has served on numerous committees at Beth Torah, and has served on the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee. Office Manager

Robin O’Bryan

Robin has worked at Beth Torah since 1989. Before coming to Beth Torah she worked in the school office at Congregation B’nai Jehudah for eight years. Robin’s responsibilities include greeting and assisting congregants and visitors coming to the office, coordinating Rabbi Levin’s calendar and assisting the rabbis and executive director. Administrative Support Staff

Sharon Altman

Sharon has held a part-time position with Beth Torah since 1995. She is responsible for donations and yahrzeits as well as assisting staff members as needed. She also has been involved in the congregation’s Golf Tournaments and Directory Fundraising efforts. Sharon and her husband have two grown children. They have been members of Beth Torah since 1991. Communications Associate

Sara Glass

Sara is the Communications Associate for Beth Torah. This newly created position began July, 2005. Sara's responsibilities include implementation and maintenance of CBT’s website, press releases and other communications on behalf of the congregation. Growing up in the Beth Torah communitiy, just recently Sara received a BA degree from the William Allen White School of Journalism at the University of Kansas. Bookkeeper

Barbara Kitt

Barbara Kitt joined the Beth Torah staff in July of 2008; however her connection to the synagogue began in 1996 when her oldest daughter started Sunday School.  Barb is the Beth Torah bookkeeper, and as such is very involved in the day to day financial life of the synagogue.   Barb, her husband Jeffrey, and their two daughters, Alexa and Sydney have been actively involved in many aspects of life at Beth Torah.

Special Programs Coordinator

Farrah Udell, M.S.W

Farrah comes to Kansas City after spending a year in Israel studying at the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies.  She is excited to expand the social justice opportunities available at Beth Torah and to help young professionals and families build community through Friends Next Dor.  Originally from Chesterfield, MO, Farrah completed her Master of Social Work degree at Washington University in St. Louis, where she also worked at Congregation Shaare Emeth and staffed an American Jewish World Service trip to Guatemala with Hillel.  Farrah has an undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona in Judaic Studies and Political Science and has also worked for KU Hillel and AIPAC.  Farrah just recently wed Kansas City native, Jeff Udell.
