Jewish Camps
Jewish overnight summer camp is a unique place where children live, learn and grow with other Jewish children. They make friendships that last a lifetime and come home with a sense of Jewish belonging. Jewish summer camp is highly encouraged as it deepens Jewish commitment and develops leadership skills. It is not too early to begin making plans for a wonderful summer for your children. Every Jewish child should attend Jewish summer camp. Scholarships are available. Also, a Summer Jewish Informal Experiences brochure (published by the K.C. Jewish Federation) including information about more than 30 programs, is mailed to all 3rd - 11th grade families each Fall.
Summer Israel Trips
Traveling to Israel is a life changing experience and is something that Beth Torah strongly supports. The North American Federation of Temple Youth (NFTY) offers two outstanding opportunities for high school students, our NFTY in Israel summer program and the NFTY EIE semester in Israel. Information about these trips will be mailed to your homes or you may find information about NFTY trips at www.nfty.org
First Time Camper Grant Beth Torah is extremely fortunate to be the recipient of an anonymous grant that pays ½ the cost of a session at a U.A.H.C. summer camp for first time campers only who are entering 4th or 5th grade the summer they will attend camp. This First Time Camper Grant is awarded to all first-time campers regardless of financial need. For more information on this, please contact Jack Feldman, Executive Director at jfeldman@beth-torah.org or (913) 498-2212.
