CBT
On
Friday night, November 4th, during our 6:30 p.m. worship we are looking forward
to welcoming guest speaker Dr. Ferdinand Schlingensiepen. Born in Bonn, Germany
in 1929, Schlingensiepen’s father, Dr. Hermann Schlingensiepen, was the
Director of a seminary that would side with the Confessing Church and be
forcibly shut down by the Gestapo. The Confessing Church was a major source of
Christian opposition to Hitler and his anti-Semitism. Dr. Schlingensiepen will
discuss his experience growing up under National
Socialism and how it impacted his life and his commitments. Dr. Schlingensiepen
is the author of the recently published Dietrich Bonhoeffer 1906-1945: Martyr, Thinker, Man of Resistance.
